Strengthening Bonds: Indian Uyghur Society and 108 Peace Institute

Strengthening Bonds: Indian Uyghur Society and 108 Peace Institute Meet in Srinagar We are pleased to share that the President of the Indian Uyghur Society, Mr. Wasim Abdullah, recently held a significant meeting with Mr. Yeshi Dawa, Senior Researcher at the US-based nonprofit 108 Peace Institute, in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Mr. Yeshi Dawa—a distinguished former journalist, political anchor, and Bureau Chief for Radio Free Asia—frequently engages with academic institutions across India on the geopolitics of Tibet and the enduring legacy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. During their discussion, Mr. Abdullah and Mr. Dawa explored shared challenges and opportunities for mutual support. Recognizing the deeply intertwined struggles for freedom, identity, and dignity, both leaders formally agreed to work together in every possible capacity to uplift and advocate for the Uyghur and Tibetan communities. This meeting marks a vital step forward in fostering solidarity and collective action for human rights and cultural preservation.
