SRINAGAR — The Indian Uyghur Society (IUS) is deeply shocked and angered by the heinous terrorist attack of 22 April 2025 in Jammu & Kashmir, which cruelly targeted innocent civilians and members of the security forces. The Uyghur community in India and worldwide stands firmly with the people of India, the Government of India, and the brave Indian Armed Forces as they confront those who seek to destabilize the country and spread fear through violence.

As a community that has suffered genocide and Chinese state terror, Uyghurs fully understand the necessity of a strong, determined response to those who support or sponsor terrorism. The Indian Uyghur Society welcomes India’s firm stand against terrorists and their backers and fully supports all lawful measures taken by the Government of India to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.

“India has long been a land of refuge and opportunity for Uyghurs,” said Wasim Abdullah, President of the Indian Uyghur Society. “When terrorists attack India, they attack our home and our friends. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Indian nation, salute the courage of its soldiers, and support decisive action to ensure such cowardly attacks never succeed.”

The Indian Uyghur Society extends deepest condolences to the families of those martyred, prays for the swift recovery of the injured, and calls on the international community to back India’s efforts to isolate and hold accountable all states and organizations, including China and Pakistan and their proxies, that enable terrorism.
