SRINAGAR — On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, the Indian Uyghur Society (IUS) extends warmest greetings to all Hindu brothers and sisters across India and around the world. Diwali, celebrated as the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, is a powerful reminder that truth, justice, and compassion ultimately prevail.​

As families light diyas, share sweets, and come together in joy, the Indian Uyghur community reflects on the enduring hope that East Turkistan too will one day emerge from the shadows of oppression into the light of freedom, dignity, and peace. The spirit of Diwali resonates deeply with Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples who continue to face persecution, cultural erasure, and systematic violations of their most basic human rights in their homeland.​
