On July 18, the leadership delegation of the Indian Uyghur Society (IUS), led by President Wasim Abdullah alongside General Secretary Talat Feroz, visited District Jail Karnal in Haryana to check on the welfare and legal status of the three detained Uyghur brothers—Adil, Abdul Khaliq, and Salamu Thursun.

The three Uyghurs fled severe persecution in East Turkistan (Xinjiang) in 2013 and entered India seeking refuge, but remain detained under prolonged administrative detention long after serving their initial sentences. During the visit, the IUS delegation assessed their current living conditions, well-being, and legal representation needs.

"Our brothers have endured over a decade in detention simply for escaping oppression and seeking safety. The Indian Uyghur Society remains committed to ensuring they receive humanitarian care, justice, and protection from deportation back to peril."
